The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture today launched the Registration of Agricultural Investments Abroad program. This program targets Saudi investors who invest abroad and producers and suppliers to the Kingdom.

The Ministry has stated that "The program is an extension of the Registration of the Agricultural Holdings and Projects in the Kingdom through developing the Agricultural Record. It falls in line with the vision 2030 objectives. It will assist the development of economic relations regarding the importing and exporting of agricultural commodities and agricultural investment abroad. This program will also help achieve food security, and boost sustainable local agricultural production as well as agricultural investment abroad."

 

MEWA added that "The program will contribute to diversifying and stabilizing external food supply sources to support the Kingdom's food security initiatives. As well as enhance opportunities for agricultural and livestock investments abroad. Furthermore, it allows the issuance of agricultural records for investment projects abroad, which brings economic benefit to Saudi investors in several aspects."

 

The Ministry pointed out that "The program will support benefiting from the program of purchasing wheat and other products that will be added to Saudi investors abroad, also the financing programs provided by the Saudi Agricultural Development Fund (ADF) for agricultural investment abroad. The facilities provided by the ministry for importers of agricultural and livestock products. There will be coordination through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with Saudi Embassies abroad to serve Saudi agricultural investors abroad. The program will boost framework agreements with the target countries, and the strengthening of bilateral relations with other countries."

 

The Ministry confirmed that "A "Geospatial" portal will be launched to enable investors in the field of agricultural and livestock activities to register through the portal. At the same time, it is calling on all Saudi investors abroad to register and benefit from the program and obtain an agricultural registry through the portal."
