Saudi Arabia is hosting and presiding over the 9th Conference of Environment Ministers in the Islamic World, under the theme "Towards Green Transformation
in the Islamic World"
The conference organised by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) will be held on 18-19 October, in Jeddah with the participation of 52 countries, as well as delegates from 30 regional and international organizations dedicated to environmental matters.
The conference program has scientific sessions. The first session will address the green transformation within the Islamic world, exploring both challenges and opportunities. The second session will focus on artificial intelligence and emerging technologies that achieve sustainable development goals, and finally the closing session.
The Sixth Meeting of the Islamic Executive Bureau for the Environment will coincide with the conference, with the participation of the nine member states of the Executive Bureau and many regional and international organizations. Additionally, there will be a concurrent exhibition held during the conference.
During the ministerial meeting, there will be elections for members of the Islamic Executive Bureau for the Environment and decisions regarding the location and date of the tenth conference session will be made.
At the conference, the main event will be the presentation of the award for the third edition of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Award for Environmental Management, which will recognize 21 winners chosen from among 18 Islamic nations.
