Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Developing policies, legislations، rules, strategies and regulatory frameworks related to commitment to the environmental conventions on climate change adaptation to which the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a party.
2. Developing plans and programs for climate change adaptation in cooperation with the relevant authorities.
3. Strengthening the actions at national level to reduce the effects of climate change.
4. Adopting plans and implementation mechanisms proposed for ensuring commitment to the environmental conventions which the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a party, in cooperation with the relevant authorities.
5. Ensuring effectiveness and suitability of programs and procedures related to the environmental conventions on climate change adaptation to which the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a party.
6. Coordinating with the relevant nominating bodies to represent the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the meetings of regional and international organizations, as well as regional and international forums, conferences, conventions and protocols related to the environment sector to protect the interests of the Kingdom, and ensure its commitment to the regional and international environmental conventions in a complementary manner with the relevant authorities.
7. Preparing research and studies on environmental conventions and climate change adaptation with the relevant authorities.
8. Developing climate change adaptation plans and programs in cooperation with the relevant authorities, strengthening actions at the national level in related fields, and reducing the effects of climate changes.
9. Strengthening the cooperation with specialized international and regional organizations and the secretariats of environmental conventions to which the Kingdom is a party.
10. Performing any other tasks assigned.
