H.E. Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Eng. Abdulrahman Abdulmohsen Alfadley has launched the Saudi Agribusiness International Trade Exhibition and Forum. In the presence of the Minister of Investment, H.E Eng. Khalid Al Falih and the President of the Federation of Saudi Chambers, Mr. Ajlan Al Ajlan.
Saudi Agriculture 2022 is held from 17 – 20 October 2022, at the Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Center. With the participation of 450 companies from 45 countries. The two ministers witnessed the signing of three agreements, including an agreement between the National Poultry Company and the Saudi Airlines Catering Company. The second agreement was between Arabian Agricultural Services Company (ARASCO) and the Saudi Airlines Catering Company. Also, the third agreement was between ALYOUM and Premier Chef.
During the main session, " The Future direction of agricultural investment" of the Forum Saudi Agribusiness Forum, Eng. Al-Fadley made clear that the ministry has developed many systems, such as the waste management system, which is expected to achieve a domestic product of 120 billion riyals by 2030. He added that investing in agriculture has become attractive and provided employment more than any other sector.
" Saudi Arabia has achieved high self-sufficiency for many agricultural crops, which aims to enhance food security and increase gross domestic product (GDP). Besides, MEWA takes great interest in the economic aspect and works to conserve natural resources." Al-Fadley added.
Eng. Khalid Al-Falih explained that investment in the agricultural sector is closely followed by His Highness the Crown Prince, may God protect him, and that the demand for foreign investment in the agricultural sector is constantly increasing, and the volume of foreign investments in agricultural activities and activities related to this sector, such as fish farming, food industry, and others, has reached the end of In 2021, to about 22 billion riyals. Adding that the Ministry of Investment is working to overcome the challenges facing investors.
The President of the Federation of Saudi Chambers said that the national committees of the Federation of Chambers have achieved many achievements, in line with the state's goals to achieve food and economic security.
