Saudi Arabia is participating with a high-level delegation representing the water sector. In addition to showcasing its efforts in developing the water sector and its regional and international contributions through a pavilion, Saudi Arabia will engage in events and a special session focused on hosting the 11th World Water Forum 2027 in Riyadh under the theme "Action for a Better Tomorrow." Hosting aligns with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, enhancing its regional and global efforts and role in the water sector. These efforts included the announcement by HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman of the establishment of a global water organization in Riyadh. Additionally, Saudi Arabia has successfully placed water issues on the G20 agenda.
The theme of the 10th World Water Forum is "Water for Shared Prosperity." Six sub-themes have been defined under the thematic topic: Water Security and Prosperity; Water for Humans and Nature; Disaster Risk Reduction and Management; Governance, Cooperation, and Hydro-diplomacy; Sustainable Water Finance; and Knowledge and Innovation. The host country, Indonesia, expects 180 countries and representatives from 250 organizations.
The World Water Forum is the largest international event on water. The Forum brings together participants from all levels and areas, including politics, multilateral institutions, academia, civil society, and the private sector, among others.
