MEWA's Minister Signs MoU with Djibouti's Minister of Urbanism, Environment and Tourism on Environmental Cooperation

Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Abdulrahman Abdulmohsen A. AlFadley, and the Minister of Urbanism, Environment and Tourism of the Republic of Djibouti, Mohamed Abdoulkader Moussa, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) establishing their cooperation regarding the conservation of land and marine environments and biodiversity, sustainable development of rangelands and forests, and combating desertification.

The Ministry stated that the MoU aims to enhance efforts, exchange experiences between the two sides, exchange visits of specialists and experts, hold meetings, conferences and seminars, and capacity-building. Adding that the MoU also aims to consolidate positions in international forums, create implementation mechanisms through communication between the institutions concers for environmental issues surrounding biodiversity and sustainable development of rangelands and forests and combating desertification, and to develop ways of cooperation in areas of common concern.
