• Developing the vision, mission and strategic objectives of the Ministry and its different sectors in line with the national policy and the Saudi Vision 2030;
• Monitoring the ongoing efforts to achieve MEWA vision, and evaluating the strategy implementation;
• Drawing up the strategic plan of the Ministry and preparing periodical reports;
• Measuring the progress made in achieving the vision;
• Identifying risks and obstacles, if any, and the means to overcome them;
• Defining KPIs;
• Reviewing privatization plan to ensure compliance with the strategic plan of the Ministry;
• Following-up KPI implementation;
• Drawing up the annual achievement report of the Ministry and identifying the effect of any deviation;
• Managing and coordinating the development and update of KPIs;
• Preparing performance management system and framework (KPIs, operations and tools);
• Applying strengths and weaknesses analysis on the main plans;
• Evaluating risks related to different initiatives, projects and programs of the Ministry; and
• Preparing strategic reports for the top management (performance reports, objectives fulfillment reports and achievements reports).
Achievements
• Defining the challenges and initiatives associated with the water and wastewater sectors (within 3 months) in light of the National Transformation Program and the Saudi Vision 2030;
• Developing a comprehensive vision for the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA), and defining the strategic orientation of its three sectors to contribute to achieving the Saudi Vision 2030;
• Evaluating vision achievement, translating it into strategic objectives for the different regulatory units of the Ministry, and ensuring its consistency with the strategic orientation of the Ministry;
• Identifying and collecting objectives of the master plan from all departments and bodies of the Ministry;
• Drawing up the costs and liquidity schedule required for the fiscal year 2016,
• Connecting projects to initiatives, KPIs and main objectives on the strategic level for the Water Sector;
• Carrying out phase 1 project of the Ministry vision and the mission of the Department of Strategic Planning;
• Carrying out, evaluating and correcting the master plans projects for every sector or body;
• Cooperating with the Cost Rationalization Office;
• Cooperating with the Vision Realization Office;
• Creating a code that measures the risk degree according to effects of risks on projects;
• Identifying weaknesses and strengths, chances and risks for the Water Sector; and
• Drawing up the scenario and potentials for every master plan.
