The Deputy Minister for Environment Dr. Osama Faqeeha led the Kingdom's delegation at a high-level session on Sand and Dust Storms. The session (SDS) took place during the UNCCD's 21st meeting of the Committee to Review the Implementation of the Convention (CRIC21).
Dr. Osama Faqeeha discussed the topic of dust and sand storms as phenomena at national, regional, and global levels. He addressed their impact on economic, social, and health development, as well as on the environmental sector. Dr. Faqeeha emphasized the significance of international and regional cooperation in implementing strategies, plans, initiatives, and programs designed to mitigate the effects of dust and sand storms.
The UNCCD held from 13-17 November 2023 for the 21st session of the UNCCD Committee for the Review of the Implementation of the Convention (CRIC 21).
