Under the Patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – May God Protect Him, Saudi Arabia will host the 9th Conference of Environment Ministers in the Islamic World and honor the winners of the third edition of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Award for Environmental Management in the Islamic World.
His Excellency Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Eng. Abdulrahman Alfadley expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - may God protect him - for his patronage of the conference and the award. Alfadley said that the Award has a purpose to inspire and foster action for collaborative environmental action within the Islamic world. It also aims to promote benefit to global environmental experiences.
Minister Alfadley will honor the 21 Winners from 18 Countries of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Award for Environmental Management in the Islamic World in the third edition.
The Award Ceremony will be held aligned with the conference from 18-19 October, in Jeddah with the participation of 52 countries, as well as delegates from 30 regional and international organizations.
The Award of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Environmental Management in the Islamic World covers four categories:
1-Best individual or collective research, achievement, or practice in the environment and sustainable development.
2-Best leading practices or activities in the environment and sustainable development in non-governmental organizations that can be replicated in the Member States.
3-Best Women's leading activities in environmental action.
4-Best environmentally-friendly Islamic city.
