Several farmers with a vast experience in Taif rose cultivation industry concluded their 5-day visit to the Republic of Bulgaria. The visit was organized by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture to build farmers' capacity, drawing on the Bulgarian extensive expertise in rose cultivation, and rose oil uses in commercial and medical products.
The Ministry explained that this visit comes within the framework of the Sustainable Agricultural and Rural Development Program initiatives, which aims to increase productivity of strategic crops to achieve balanced rural development, diversify the agricultural production base in rural areas, and to raise efficiency and the optimal and sustainable utilization of renewable agriculture and water resources.
During the visit, the farmers were briefed on the production of the leading factories and commercial companies specialized in the cultivation and distillation of rose, and the production of rose oil and raw materials for use in cosmetics, aromatherapy oils and medicines. They also visited a few villages and farms that are known for rose cultivation, as well as the Institute of Rose in Kazanlak.
It is noteworthy that this visit comes within the cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Bulgaria in the field of rose cultivation and distillation and medical and cosmetic uses, which aims to exchange expertise and develop farmers' capacity.
