Under the patronage of His Excellency Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA) Abdulrahman Abdulmohsen A. AlFadley, MEWA will launch a tree-planting campaign on Saturday aimed at planting 50,000 trees in a single day at Thadig National Park. The campaign started from Thadig, Riyadh region, and will cover all cities and governorates in the Kingdom.
MEWA pointed out that the campaign will be launched with the participation of more than 27 public, semi-public and private entities, voluntary associations, schools and individuals.
MEWA pointed out that the campaign targets at planting more than 6 million trees in all regions of the Kingdom from October 2019 to April 2020, with the participation of government agencies and community partnerships, as a part of a tree-planting plan to be implemented during this season.
MEWA affirmed that the afforestation campaign aims to protect the environment, tackle pollution, provide access to a sustainable environment and resources that achieve water security, and to contribute to improving the quality of life, inviting individuals, families, public and private sector and voluntary associations to take part in the campaign.
